"I am an optimist. It does not seem too much use being anything else" - Winston Curchill
One of my favorite quotes ! Henry Ford also said nearly the same: "whether
you believe you can, or you believe you can not, you will be right!" and
Churchill is also quoted with the following definition: "A pessimist sees the
difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every
difficulty"

"if everything seems under control, you are simply not going fast enough " - Mario Andretti
I love this quote - complacency is a real danger in both life and business.

"If you do exactly what business schools teach you, you are almost certain to fail" - Clayton Christensen, HBS Prof.
This quote is very insightful, and I thought it was thought-provoking that a
HBS Professor said this, but when you think about it it actually makes sense.
Theory seldom works if applied blindly, but needs to be adapted to the situation
at hand. Reflecting and disagreeing with theories often carries a lot of value
as well.
"Assumptions are the mother of all fuck ups" - Bruce Willis
I doubt that Bruce Willis is the source of this one liner, but it is actually
a great reminder that small and seemingly innocent assumptions in decisions, can
have fatal consequences. who said NPV calculations !
"Hope is not a strategy" - unknown
Too many strategies rely on factors completely outside anyones control. I
like this quote as it reminds me to focus on what I can change and plan for
different scenarios for the factors which I have no control over.
"No amount of success in business, however glittery or grand, will justify failure at home" - HBS Dean in graduation speech to Harvard MBA's
A fantastic quote, and a powerful message to MBA graduates from the HBS Dean.
I like it for its crisp simplicity, and what I mean about that is that the world
is not normally black and white, but in this case it really is ! (a related
quote I once heard was "I have yet to meet the man, who on his retirement says
Gee, I wish I had spend more time in the office")
